A call to Labour members in Wales. We have more than the 9 CLP seats to vote for, we have to elect for the first time an NEC member to represent members in Wales. History is in the making but it’s important to know the history of this post & how we the members made it happen 1.
2. We fought for this seat to be made an elected role not an appointed role. It wasn’t a quick or easy fight but we were driven by the principles of democracy.
3. When first implemented this seat was awarded to Wales, not to ensure democratic representation but because those opposed to the democratically elected leader were about to lose their majority on the NEC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-37493897
4. Carwyn Jones then first minister decided who would hold that seat to represent the first minister.
5. But Mark Drakeford, elected on a manifesto of increased democracy wanted that seat to be elected by the members to represent the members. In the interim he appointed @MickAntoniw1 to hold the seat.
6. Because @MickAntoniw1 holds the same values - a member led organisation. And now we the members elect to that seat for the first time. The two candidates are Mick Anowin and .... wait for it.....
7. Carwyn Jones.

Please vote for democracy. Vote for someone who believes that given the opportunity though fair process members can and do get it right.
8. Indeed it’s the only way unity can be achieved. Fairness, standards & the right to differ. It won’t be achieved by an old agenda that tells people what to do.
9. So vote for @MickAntoniw1
And vote for @future_we_need
And vote for @MarkStokeSouth
And vote for @Fruitandvegdon
And vote for @JermainJackman

Let’s make this happen
