my thing about academic language in casual tweets is like why are you talking like that in your free time

we joke about customer service voices and code switching for a reason. doesn’t seem (authentic? honest?) for your academic self to take over all the time if that’s not how you talked growing up... thinkin about it as a class marker too...

granted- academia (in the standard sense) will never define me even if i’m a full fledged academic because it is a job in white America to me

so maybe that’s why it’s impossible for me to get it. it’s a job, a costume, a role I play

Academic vocabulary not just concepts or phrases y’all. I’m specifically talking about unnecessarily dense language choices when you don’t have to do that
