So today, I may have saved a squirrel!
I ran outside quick to go check the mail when I noticed this little critter was standing in the middle of the road, curled up in a ball, shaking like mad. I approached it carefully, poked it with a box and it didnât move much. 1/6

I covered my hands with my sweater (poor choice because fleas) and actually managed to pick it up. It quickly jumped out my hands and scurried underneath a car and after a bit of coaxing I got it out. I took it over to our backyard and set it down on the ground, still 2/6
shaking. So I quick ran inside, grabbed some bread (also broke open an acorn
) and brought that back out to try and feed it. Sadly, it wouldnât eat. So I looked online and it appears squirrels get like this when they havenât eaten in a while, but I couldnât let it die. 3/6

So I picked it up, put it in my lap and tried to âmanuallyâ feed it. It didnât care for the food, but it did like the warmth of my hand! I could tell it was pretty cold too. Eventually it actually started eating, but would only eat if I had my hand around it

So now here we are, Iâve built a little fort for it around the back on our porch, gave it a plate of food, some water and itâs snoozing away!
