Rewatched A Silent Voice for the first time. I still can’t quite point out what makes this movie truly marvelous, but I can say that it’s my favorite piece of media of all time.

The journey in which Shouya embarks on comes with sadness and great pain, but is full of life and hope. The brilliant animation continues to excite and delight me every frame and beautifully outlines the key themes undergoing and shows just how powerful they can be
Shouko’s portrayal of self-doubt, oppression, and pain is both heartbreaking and immaculate; she redefines the barriers of communications and feelings and allows Shouya to develop and progress in such a satisfying and delicate manner, you can’t not love and care for her
The side cast gives the main story and theme the pedestal to spread out its wings and thrive like no other. They all push the strong narrative components to describe the complicated environment and serve as unique individuals in their own right
The earth-shattering emotional hook the story holds is unreal. Thanks to said reasons listed above, the tipping points in the story destroy your feels and provides a very beneficial commentary on today’s society and heavily prevalent issues with bullying, disabilities, and more
This masterpiece of a journey all culminates into the most heartfelt and emotional experience I’ve ever felt. The greatest amounts of happiness and tears begin to swell up as the Xs rip off, and everything the story builds up just —— connects like that
I love everything about this film and then some. I highly doubt I’ll ever find a more inspiring piece of immaculate art work now or any time soon. I would kill to re-live the experience of watching this for the first time
