/ To celebrate women’s suffrage and the upcoming election, my barn mate @KirstieDobbsPhD and I have started a #horsegirlsvote campaign to energize the equestrian community as we count down to November 3rd https://twitter.com/katekosnoff/status/1317632965715857408
/ The 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote 100 years ago, but many women of color did not enjoy that right until decades later. Yet their work was tireless, and often took place on horseback, as it was an easy way to spread the message of suffrage.
/ As Election Day draws near, we will be celebrating women’s suffrage, sharing voting resources, and highlighting some of the women who were vital to the movement, such as Mabel Ping Hua-Lee and Inez Milholland.
/ We also encourage equestrians to share a photo with their horse stating why they vote, using the hashtags #horsegirlsvote and #womenssuffrage
/ If you are unable to vote this year, please take this opportunity to celebrate the fierce women in your life and your committment to fighting for the rights of women everywhere by sharing a photo with the same hashtags!
/ If you are so inclined, please use either of these cover photos on your social media profiles
/ And, most importantly, please vote early, vote by mail, or make a plan to vote at your polling station on November 3rd!
