Massachusetts’ eviction and foreclosure moratorium expired this past weekend. If you are a tenant, please know that there are resources in place right now to help you maintain your housing.

THREAD:
If you are a renter who is struggling to make rent payments, you may be eligible for rental assistance.

You can find the housing consumer education center that services your region to begin an online application here: https://hedfuel.azurewebsites.net/raa.aspx
The federal moratorium established by the CDC will still remain in effect through the end of the year. In order to be protected, you must submit a written form to your landlord.

You can find that form here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/declaration-form.pdf
Mass 2-1-1 is now equipped to answer housing related inquiries and connect callers with resources + service providers. You can dial 2-1-1 at any time to get more information.
If you need assistance with any of these resources, please email me at [email protected] so a member of my staff can assist you.

Please include the best phone number to reach you at in that email.
I will continue to advocate for the advancement of H.5018, a bill that I sponsored with @MikeConnollyMA and was reported out favorably from the Joint Committee on Housing at the end of September.
As our work on this legislation continues, I will also continue to lead a coalition of my colleagues in the legislature in asking for more rental assistance funding and more answers on exactly how the implementation of the diversion plan will proceed.
