An Uber driver in Southern California just sent me this screenshot. He says he gets this pop up every single time a person requests a ride. He has to click yes or okay in order to pick them up.

Uber has since updated the popup. A spokesperson for Uber says the new pop up, which began several weeks ago, is more informational, appears intermittently and has an "x" to allow drivers the ability to just close it.

So there was also a technological mishap. The pop up was built to appear every time a driver went "offline." However, drivers switch between Uber, Lyft and other apps. That means they go offline all the time. That is why drivers were constantly having to click yes or okay.
