HOW TO WIN PROGRESSIVE AND INDEPENDENT VOTERS, a thread
I support Joe Biden. I struggle with Biden, as a survivor, but at this point, no one is listening. Here is the most important reason why I'm Biden/Harris 2020:

*The more Democrats show up to vote for Joe, the more progressive dems get elected.* (1/?)
House candidates like @SiegelForTexas, @JulieOliverTX, and @donnaimamTX are within the margins to flip red seats for Medicare for All and for a Green New Deal.

We can triple the squad in 15 days. (2/?)
I don't trust Joe Biden. Many indys don't. Obama ran on an incredibly progressive campaign, including single payer, for 2008 and then delivered nothing, installed wall street execs, and threw the movement under the bus.

But we can trust @karaforcongress (3/?)
Leftists do not want to hear about Biden not being Trump. We don't want to hear about how okay a public option is or how Joe won't ban fracking and that's somehow okay. 2035 is a death sentence not a climate plan.

So don't talk about that, talk about the movement. (4/?)
Talk about how @Bradshaw2020 won her primary and is fighting to build a progressive movement in TN.

Talk about how @paulajean2020 is running with FORTY progressives up and down West Virginia. They can WIN the more Democrats we get to the polls. (5/?)
Stop shitting on Bernie Sanders. Stop shaming people for not following him like a cult leader to stump for Biden. Acknowledge that the DNC plays unfairly.

Acknowledge that this kind of donor table should matter more than corporate media. (6/?)
Talk about how @JamaalBowmanNY and @CoriBush beat corporate Democrats. How our working class revolution doesn't have to stop because Bernie lost. Every Biden Democrat who may not know @JonHoadley will vote because of the D next to his name.

That matters. (7/?)
Accept loss. You cannot win some people. I supported Hillary after Bernie lost but I was blamed for her loss for 4 years. Joe/Obama admin signed laws that deported members of my family.

This is who you are talking to a lot of the time. We can't all swallow Joe (8/?)
The problem i see is the unwillingness of liberals to understand the people theyre talking down to. If you think Trump makes it life and death for you, you weren't paying attention to the plight of immigrants in the last 30 years. (9/?)
Sell us Chairman Bernie Sanders. Because that is the best reason for us to #FlipTheSenateBlue. Bernie Sanders will make Medicare for All the most important national conversation if Biden is elected. So get people to vote now (10/?) http://Paulajean.com
@ReverendWarnock and @harrisonjaime aren't even running on Medicare for All, but I will help elect them anyway because it gives Bernie a better shot.

Show them that leftists are winning the soul of the Democratic party one inch at a time. (11/?)
Show them the sheer amount of progressive Dems that we have ready to take office if they help GOTV for Dems. We have an army.

And we get to PICK our enemy: we get to pick Joe Biden. And Kamala Harris. (12/12)
Addendum: look I get it some of you like Joe. That's fine.

But to get leftists who are burned by Biden to support this campaign, try to be empathetic to what they might be feeling. Adversarial, left out of the conversation. Show us our goals align, even if just briefly.
Not everyone you talk to is going to become a Joe supporter. But conversations that lean on the points above helped convince me and many other independents to volunteer for senate races, to donate and make calls for our candidates. And for me, to support Joe, even nominally.
Our best case scenario is this: Joe Biden, in 2022, has to face the barrel of an unprecedented amt of progressive leftist democrats inside his party, or get nothing done. That's what we can build towards. But we will never get that chance if Trump remains in office.
