THE FSO NABARIMA IS SINKING.

THE SHIP IS FILLED WITH 55 MILLION GALLONS OF CRUDE OIL. IF THIS SHIP CAPSIZES, THERE WILL BE PERMANENT CONSEQUENCES-- AND NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. [thread]

The Nabrima is a Venezuelan crude oil ship that's been left to rot at sea. The Nabrima holds 5 times the amount of oil of the Exxon Valdez, and if the ship sinks, the oil will not only damage the environment but the people who depend on the waters for their food and supplies.

The PDVSA- the owners of the ship- have denied that there is no cause for concern, despite crewmen working on the ship reporting issues and local fisherman showing that the ship is at a tilt.

The governments aren't doing anything, and there is currently no way to donate to help the cause directly, but I'd like to personally use my reach to draw attention to this disaster and tell people to MAKE SOME FUCKING NOISE!!!!

Today, October 19th, there are unconfirmed reports that the ship is temporarily stabilized, but this is not enough. All of that oil needs to be taken off the ship before any more close calls can take place.

The idea of a thread and a petition is to spread information and gain more public attention. Don’t sit there and bitch about it, use your brain. Do what I’ve been doing- reach out to journalists, media outlets, and your fucking government. SPEAK UP
