Tomorrow is #MCAS Awareness Day. As a patient with #MCAS it's really important to me that those around me know how to use epi pens. I can go into idiopathic anaphylaxis, and I might be unconscious and unable to use my epi myself. 1/5
To keep safe, I wear a medical alert bracelet. If you're ever find someone unconscious, look for a bracelet or necklace. This lists my major conditions, notes down that I have anaphylaxis, and holds info about my ICE contact. 2/5
I also have a tag on all of my bags that says "EPI PEN INSIDE" and I carry a red medical alert bag in my work bag or purse with my epi pens. If I can't epi myself, I'm relying on those around me to help out. 3/5
If I have a rash, am raspy, aren't breathing right, you should go ahead and use an epi. Stay on the phone with 911 if you're nervous, but it's probably the right choice to make. Even if it's not, I won't die from adrenaline. 4/5
Using an epi is really easy, but if you haven't received any training brush up with the video below. Please take two minutes our of your day to watch - you could literally save my life knowing this info. 5/5 #Disability #EpiPen
