Firstly, well done to @StevenChicken for asking the pressing questions that’ve been on our lips for a long time. Secondly, it has cleared up a few things. Here’s my stance on it... (Thread) #HTAFC https://twitter.com/stevenchicken/status/1318220265285890048
Financially: I think I speak for most fans in saying, we’ve understood all along that the pandemic has caused mass problems at most clubs in the world of football. I hope however, the pandemic answer isn’t given every time a pressing question is asked regarding finance. #HTAFC
‘We are financially fine, we’re financially sound. We’re not one of those clubs that’s been talked about in the media as being in trouble in the Championship’.
This comment can’t be forgotten about under any circumstances. It’s a big statement and one I pray is the truth. #HTAFC

‘We don’t believe and didn’t believe that throwing more money at it was the solution.
Again, the vast majority of fans agree with this approach. We’ve never been a club that works that way and I don’t want us to work that way either. It’s in the detail. #HTAFC

‘We know what he wants as a head coach and what fits his style, and that allows us to recruit specifically to how we want to play.’
I love the Coberan style and on reflection I’m glad we made the change.
That comment is the fundamentals though, we expect that of you. #HTAFC

Transfers: ‘If KG wasn’t going to go this window then we didn’t need to bring in another player in that area.’
True, but we should’ve been more prepared. Yes, negotiations were tough with WBA, but we should’ve had a cut off date...SM had already gone. Where was the plan? #HTAFC

Can’t help but feel we were walked all over with the Grant deal. Let’s not forget these negotiations went on for what seemed like forever, I know WBA were difficult but WE should’ve been stronger. WE should’ve had that replacement sorted well before his eventual departure. #HTAFC
[On Aarons falling through] ‘It was just one of those things, not something we could have expected or provided for, but that’s life and we’ve just got to accept that sometimes these things happen in football.‘
I beg to differ, this happens all the time. SHOULD’VE HAPPENED SOONER

[On the repayments to Hoyle] ‘I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Dean to want some or all of that repaid.’
Neither do I. I’ve stayed quiet on this topic for a while but the way I see it is Hoyle did wonders for #HTAFC. For him to take his own money back shouldn’t be frowned on.

[Phil on the shirt sponsor] That’s been sorted and there will be announcements next few weeks. We’re doing something different and innovative and hopefully that will tick a lot of boxes.
It should’ve been sorted earlier and it’s another of our mistakes but glad it’s done. #HTAFC
