If you want a better understanding of mythology and the Hero's Journey I just published a @RoamResearch public graph with my study guide to The Hero With A Thousand Faces.
Suitable for storytellers, mystics, psychologists, and lunatics of all stripes. https://roamresearch.com/#/app/samlearns-public/page/FLb6tLe__

The Hero stumped me the first time I tried to read it.
I searched for resources to help me understand the material but could not find exactly what I wanted.
It appeared to me that I was stuck on a few key questions that were preventing me from grokking the material.

It appeared to me that I was stuck on a few key questions that were preventing me from grokking the material.
If those questions could be clearly defined, they could be answered. And if they could be answered then a treasure trove of meaning would be unlocked.
Nothing existed like that so I thought I'd make it.

The study guide is a work in progress.
It is arranged around 3 essays of varying degrees of completeness. Though I have the disorganized material for at least 5 more.
It also features a symbols list that you can filter through. And helpful chapter summaries.

The decision to go public now is in defiance to a strong current of resistance that pulls my soul backwards.
The resistance wants me to whittle away in darkness.
But I know if I don't share with you now—I may never.

So I ask of you friends that if you find this useful, interesting, helpful, incomplete, confusing, whatever:

This was my capstone project for his effortless output course. It has all the info you need to make one of these.
By retweeting me, Nat introduced me to all the friends that helped me with this project. List here: https://roamresearch.com/#/app/samlearns-public/page/JwoKxgUFf

This a passion project. It starts with the belief that books are magical objects.
That a good book can and should change your life. If you put in the work.
I hope this helps you put in the work.

Oh and if you want a preview without leaving Twitter https://twitter.com/samlearns/status/1317960842692808704
And also I forgot to thank the #roamcult without which a project of this scale would not have been possible.
Next time I'll do a public domain work so that we can leave all those juicy direct quotes in, eh?
