Have you called @SenToomey today and told him what you think about his support of going ahead with the SCOTUS vote? Read this thread to find out why it's important to call him -- even if we think he won't ever change.
While @SenToomey is a recalcitrant hypocrit, our phone calls do make a difference. How? Well, senators offices talk amongst themselves. They know how many calls pro/con each is getting. When Toomey is innundated, @SenatorCollins and @lisamurkowski hear about it.
In addition, D senators hear about it too. It gives them political cover/courage to stand against the SCOTUS nomination. Make no mistake, @SenBobCasey has been much more left this term than ever before, partially because of the pressure on Toomey.
Also, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes with the Senate GOP. Perhaps a wave of angry calls will tilt the balance to wavering senators who are up for reelection? We don't know and a two minute call is worth the effort.
Also, we are setting the stage for the 2022 election. We want any Republican considering running for the seat to think "do I want to spend a year campaigning in a state where the constituents are so vocal and angry about what I want to do?"
And, finally, those staffers who have stood by @SenToomey while he has supported separating families, tried to take away our healthcare & social security, gave enormous tax breaks to billionaires, destroyed our environment -- those staffers need to hear from us.
So, give @SenToomey a call. It's worth the two minutes of your time.
