So there’s this liberal misogynist who’s releasing a song called “Fuck You Lindsay” because I criticized his campaign of graphic sexual harassment against a racist, arguing that we should not reinforce one system of oppression to fight another. 1/
I’ve been trying to ignore this, but I feel like I should warn people about Steven Meyers Jr. I'm not doxing him, as he's already been using his real name in public conversations in which he exchanges threats with racists. The disregard for Black rallygoers' safety is alarming.2/
Steven is not an anti-racist. He condemned Black Lives Matter after I and a couple others criticized him for running a digital blackface account with which he sexually harassed a racist in a way that also fetishized lesbian BIPOC (he is a white man). 3/
I am also uneasy about the disproportionate anger he displays when criticized by a woman. Before this thread, the only thing I had written publicly about him was this single subtweet. 4/ https://twitter.com/AylingLindsay/status/1305231643666505728
From his song list, you can tell that I am the person he is accusing of “threats” from the anti-racist side (the only other names he mentions are his and two racists). When you compare the actual tweet with the language of the album, it’s clear something doesn’t add up. 5/
I’m concerned he may pose a danger to those around him–1st because of his quickness to anger, 2nd because his posts appear to encourage racists to engage in violent altercations w/him in public, 3rd because cops could use those posts to paint anti-racists as violent aggressors 6/
