Start of the good Darnold thread-
Some of the mobility shown here as Darnold steps up from pressure off of his right and then rolls right away from some interior pressure. Finds Herndon on the corner route, want him to put the ball a touch higher but Herndon needs to catch this ball.
Shotgun snap, reads left, middle then right. Steps up from pressure, pulling the ball into his chest and away from hands that may swat it. Finds Crowder open over the middle and puts it on him but Crowder drops the ball.
Even though the Jets are short of the 1st here you see some of Darnold& #39;s improvisational skills. Drops back and sees nothing he wants to throw, slides left away from pressure. Rolls left but is being tackled, switches the ball into his right hand middle tackle and flips it to CH.
Post-wheel concept on the bottom with Bell split out as the #2 WR and running the wheel. LB is coverage is late to turn and run with Bell. Even with bad feet Darnold drops the pass perfectly in the bucket leading Bell for a big gain.
Darnold takes the shotgun snap, quick to step up and avoid pressure in the b-gap. Starts to scramble, keeps his eyes up and sees Crowder open, floats the ball to Crowder for a good chunk of yards.
Darnold takes the shotgun snap, nicely steps up in the pocket, sees Perriman ( #1 up top) about to win vertically on the stutter go with nice anticipation. Darnold puts the ball in a great spot but Perriman is held and can& #39;t get to the throw.
Darnold takes the snap/reads left where nothing is open, pressured quickly from the b-gap. SD sees the pressure, tucks the ball and starts to move out left. Sees another defender coming overtop, drops his hips pushes upfield through the arm tk/scrambles for the 1st on 3rd and 5.
Play action left, roll out to the offenses right. Darnold pulls the ball short and still has pressure quickly off of his right side. Darnold sees it, plants, jumps to get the ball off to Herndon in the flat. Good job getting this ball off and good accuracy with heavy pressure.
Another play action, Darnold pulls the ball and reads the sail concept to his left. Darnold sees his intermediate read open and throws the ball with pressure in his face. Good job by Hogan to secure the catch while being hit.
Darnold takes the snap, sees nothing he wants to throw, rolls right as the DE gets inside of the RT and is closing in on him. Darnold keeps his eyes up and sees Herndon who does a good job getting open. Darnold delivers the ball right on Herndon who drops the TD.
Griffin flexed out to the #1 up top runs a 9 vs the DB. Darnold puts the ball in a great spot outside allowing Griffin a chance to make a play on the ball. Griffin pushes off causing the OPI, Darnold can clean up his mechanics here but good throw regardless.
Darnold takes the snap and gets pressured quickly through the a-gap, pulls the ball down, breaks the arm tackle and scrambles out left. Finds Berrios who gets open, throws cross body while drifting left, putting the ball right on Berrios for the TD.
The one play I marked as good for Darnold this entire game. Darnold takes the snap and doesn& #39;t throw the ball as nothing is open, eventually gets pressured through the a-gap, pulls/tucks the ball, rolls right avoiding another defender, eyes downfield and finds Berrios for the TD.
