Activities and your Energy Levels

Yesterday we talked about tracking your energy levels and what one can learn.

Today we talk about the activities linked to energy levels.

There are 3 main energy states. Displayed in Blue, Green and Red.
Probably a lot more in between.
That’s not the main focus.

Your energy levels determine what you should do when.

Based on basic math.

High Energy - Stable/Low Energy Activity = Leftover energy
= Suffering
Low Energy - Stable/High Energy Activity = Burnout (When done over and over again) = Suffering

What are the optimal activities for each activity?

HIGH ENERGY ACTIVITIES

Anything that requires a HIGH amount of Brain or Bodily functions:

Training
Dancing
Deep Work
Creating Art
Learning new Habits

Acting out old habits does not require as much energy as learning a new one.
STABLE AND LOW ENERGY ACTIVITIES

Same concept as above.

STABLE:

Dum Dum Tasks aka. Cubical Tasks aka. Excel Sheet heroes
Basic Planning
Reading

LOW:

Eating
Small talk with NPC’s
Time wasting meetings
🚹DON’T BLINK. IMPORTANT STUFF IS COMING🚹

There is ONE connection I made.

When you do activities based on your energy levels.

The end result is, you’ll be fully emerged in the activity, because it requires exactly all of your energy available to you

SOME MIGHT CALL IT FLOW
But reaching flow was not what was the discovery for me.

I thought about activities that transcend all energy states.

There was only one activity that made sense.

MEDITATION

In this moment I made a connection.

HIGH LEVELS OF MEDITATION EQUAL FLOW

But there is a problem for many

Meditation gets harder every single day for the average human being due to the overstimulation through the world we live in.

I invite you to think about using energy level matching activities to get into meditation.

Side note: People come out of the gym mentally refreshed😉
