Since yesterday was a tribute to George Harrison from Prince and Tom Petty, today it is Mr. Harrison himself

In 1992, George did a benefit concert for the Natural Law Party, at Royal Festival Hall.
The attached clip is a long edit of the entire show.
I was in the 4th row of the audience.

I was doing planning for Visnews (now Reuters TV) at the time, and I organised a crew to film the rehearsal. This was no easy task, but I managed to sort it out, and I was to go as the producer. I was going interview George. Gulp.

At the last moment, I was bigfooted, which means some more senior people demanded that they cover the rehearsal, and my bosses agreed. I was unceremoniously dumped, after all my set-up work.

I rang the organisers & explained that it would be a different producer. Maybe they sensed the disappointment in my voice, but the guy offered me 2x tickets to the show as a consolation prize.
As consolation prizes go, this was a good one.

I did not tell anyone I worked with about these tickets, until after the concert. I was not going to allow someone to snatch them from me.
It was an amazing show. Many guests, including Ringo, who also performed. So I have seen 50% of the Beatles live.
