" Yorkers mat daalna. (Don't bowl yorkers), else you'll get hit for runs"
23rd Jan 2016:
Ind vs Aus: Sydney 5th odi:
Aus had already won the series 4-0 and India were gearing up for World T20I by playing a 3 T20s vs Aus that were going to be played in India later that year.1️⃣
India had chosen likes of @Jaspritbumrah93 and @hardikpandya7 for the T20 series. However, there was 1 last ODI to be played and thanks to an injury to @BhuviOfficial, Bumrah was handed over the ODI cap and it was the 44th over Aus cruising at 282/5, Dhoni brings in Bumrah...2️⃣
.. and worried about being hit, Dhoni tells Bumrah to focus on the basics and avoid bowling yorkers. Bumrah gets hit for 10 runs in that over. He comes back in the 49th over and tells his captain to let him bowl yorkers since this is the only thing he knows.. 3️⃣
He gives out just 3 runs and takes the wicket of set Faulkner by a scotching Yorker. Bumrah finishes his spell by giving just 40 runs with the price wickets of @stevesmith49 and @JamesFaulkner44. Dhoni goes to Bumrah and tells him that if he had been there in the 1st 4 games..4️⃣
.. India would have won the series. 😮Bumrah goes on to enhance his reputation and becomes the spearhead of the Indian attack in the next 2 years.

The Year 2020.
Over-load in 2019 meant Bumrah had tough times dealing injuries in his lower back which made him..5️⃣
..unavailable for the 2nd half of 2019. He came back to play competitive cricket for India when we played the T20I series against SL & that was followed by the tour of NZ. However, long break did seem to affect Bumrah. He wasn't bowling yorkers confidently and the zip he had..6️⃣
.. was gone too. Therefore, Bumrah had to bear an hot and cold NZ tour.

IPL 2020
Just when you taught Jassi was getting his rhythm back, the world endured the pandemic which meant IPL was played after a long 6 months break. @Jaspritbumrah93 too looked rusty..7️⃣
..and was taken for plenty in the 1st game, looked better in the next until @patcummins30 took a toll of Bumrah. People started worrying, twitter/analyst everyone just taught Bumrah has been found out, he is over. But the movie wasn't over yet. His form gradually improved..8️⃣
When MI played against RCB. However, his best form was hit in the last 2 matches. In the 1st against @KKRiders he bowled his variations to perfection. The ball to dismiss #Russell and the way he set him up showed his class. 9️⃣
And against @lionsdenkxip, well lets just say @Jaspritbumrah93 was back to his beast mode. Bumrah followed his 4-22-1 with 4-24-3 spell. Hold on. One of those wickets included 149kmph yorker on the off stump to dismiss @klrahul11. Magician as @ESPNcricinfo called it.🔟
Happy? Just wait. He banged one in to dismiss @nicholas_47 and also bowled the other wall of @lionsdenkxip batting @mayankcricket by an in-swinger. Ah! Beast. Scary yet magnificent. The rhythm, the flow, the zip. Everything fantastic isn't it?1️⃣1️⃣
Not until you have seen the affair Bumrah has with Super overs. Be it against @Bazmccullum and @AaronFinch5 in 2017 or against @ABdeVilliers17 and @imVkohli. Bumrah relishes these one over battle and this is exactly what @klrahul11, @nicholas_47, @imDeepakHooda experienced.1️⃣2️⃣
When Bumrah is in flow, when he has his zip, the skiddiness, & when the bowl is coming out of the hand the way Bumrah wants it then it doesn't matter if the 1st 3 yorkers didn't fall correctly. As Pooran might have experienced, the angle and the pace itself would be enough.1️⃣3️⃣
But when the Yorker falls correctly, as it did in the last 2 balls, then even a scoop can't save you if you are a batsmen as @klrahul11 experienced it. What we saw yesterday was an art of highest level. While cricket still revolves around batsmen but if the bowler is of the..1️⃣4️⃣
..quality of Jasprit Bumrah.. then even the cricketing gods would not mind to have super overs again and again. Thank you. Thread on Shami will be posted tomorrow. 1️⃣5️⃣
