1/ Cameron is not an unrestricted FA. Giants are well within their rights to match the contract and force a trade. They then should drive a hard bargain with Geelong. Cats are masters at controlling the PR narrative when it comes to trades.
2/ When Danger wanted to leave, the Cats dealt their future 1st on day 2 of the trade period to Carlton for Henderson and then simply told the Crows "sorry, pick 9 is all we have left, we can throw in Gore if you like though". Played the part of wanting to help Danger come home.
3/ But when Tim Kelly wanted to return home, Geelong put a huge price on his head which WC didnt want to pay and then held him for the extra yr. Then last yr, when out of contract, Geelong received picks 14 + 24 +37 + 2020 WC 1st rounder (pick 11).
4/ It's easier to find a Tim Kelly type than a Jeremy Cameron type. GWS should use Geelong's trade price for Kelly against them. Kelly's asking price should be the minimum GWS get for Cameron. Geelong would be getting a bargain if all they have to cough up is 2x1sts.
