Hyperpigmentation is the word used to describe every form of skin pigmentation — whether sunburn or pimple dark spots.

And Excessive sun exposure is the pioneer.

As we #EndSARS , let's figure out how to get rid of them. 1/12

Going out into the sun without any kind of protection for your skin will instigate UVA rays from sunlight to penetrate deep into the lower layers of your skin and trigger the cells (melanocytes) that produce melanin to produce more melanin.
This is what you can do to protect yourself.

1. You should have a facial skincare routine first. The basics; you cleanse, moisturize and sunscreen.

2. Inside this routine, you begin to introduce products that target your specific skin conditions.
Since we are talking about hyperpigmentation here, products like:

a) vitamin c serum which is an antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthy collagen production.
b) niacinamide serum which reduces inflammation, Minimizes pore appearance, uneven tone & smoothens skin.
A secondary benefit — a natural reduction in pore size over time & Regulates oil production which can be of great benefits for people with oily/combination Skin.
c) Alpha arbutin serum which reduces the appearance of spots and dark pigments. This is its major work.

I would advise you get the three so you can use for your morning and night routine.
I prefer you use the vitamin c in the morning and the Niacinamide & Alpha arbutin at night.

The three are water based and so should be used immediately after cleansing on a damp skin so as to get đź’Ż benefit.

If you struggle with too much sebum production,
I advise you layer the niacinamide first at night before the Alpha arbutin, then vice versa if you struggle with dark spots and hyperpigmentation more.

In the morning, cleanse, vitamin c, and sunscreen which is very important.

Your sunscreen is what prevents
Further pigmentation. Without it, other ingredients are useless. Use only during the day.

I prefer you get tinted/chemical sunscreens that fit your skin type instead of the ones that leave behind a white cast.

Though you see the discoloration on the surface of your skin,
Those pigments are actually produced by melanocytes in the lowest layer (stratum basal) of your skin. so these ingredients mentioned above are actually going into your skin to tackle unnecessary pigmentation which means you need patience depending on how long you've had those
Pigments if you desire satisfactory results.

If you need to get these ingredients mentioned above you can message @mideemiola. Her rates are cheaper too and her customer service, commendable.
