On top of Run with the Wind being a god tier series that I believe everyone should watch, it does an incredible job addressing the prejudice black people face in Japan and the problem with nationalism in sports. https://twitter.com/sacsilo/status/1318016684893110272">https://twitter.com/sacsilo/s...
Musa is an exchange student who isn’t athletic whatsoever, but once he’s forced to join a track team, he starts to deal with the racial stereotypes people have about Africans being incredible at sports, which is an uncommon dynamic for black characters in sports anime
It’s one of the few anime series I’ve seen that has black characters with realistic features. He’s also incredibly sweet, motivated, intelligent, and has one of the best developments in the series.
I know I NEVER SHUT UP about this anime, but there are so many positive elements about this series that don’t get enough recognition. Musa is just one of the many amazing reasons why everyone should watch this
Since this is getting a lot of attention, I’m gonna need some of you who started the series from this thread to comment below and tell me what you thought.
This year has been shitty but getting people to watch RWTW is one of the few things that makes me extremely happy
