:deep breath:

A year ago I watched Adam Curtis’s “HyperNormalisaton.” This clip is the only thing that has made sense to me the last 4 years. It’s one of the few things I can offer ahead of the election.

I feel 🤢 vulnerable talking about this here.

I’m sharing this because, for me, it wasn’t possible to understand our present predicament without curiosity about people like @jackmurphylive, philosophers like Aleksandr Dugin, scholars like @M_Millerman.

It isn’t about agreeing or not. Choose what is right for you.

In the liberal circles I travel in NO ONE is talking about this body of work and these nuanced ideas. Giving myself a “conservative” education has expanded my thinking and imagination significantly. I speak about this course of self study with only very few people.

With 2 weeks before the election I’m going to try to be as transparent as I can here. The most important dynamic I’ve come to understand through this study (which is still very new to me) is chaos. Winner or loser is irrelevant. What matters is the storm you’re swept up in.

“What is my relationship to & belief about this storm?” is the perennial question I ask myself. Then: “Who benefits & profits from it?”

No matter your candidate or party: I invite you to become curious about the storm. If you are, I’d love to hear about your journey!

:exhale:
PS: if you watch the clip and also believe that the a critical context we’re missing for our current reality is a better understanding absurdist, avant-garde theater my DMs are very much open to you.
