Watched “The Beatles in India” documentary this weekend. So many connections as I’m from Toronto, now live in Rishikesh & can see Beatles Ashram from my balcony. Wrote about it http://bit.ly/2zLWyRC

My favourite part of the documentary was the story of Paul Saltzman’s arrival at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram in Rishikesh. He had to wait outside in a tent for 8 days before they let him in. He demonstrated his commitment and dedication. There’s a spiritual truth in this!
I also liked this scene — on the morning Dehradun Shatabdi, a train I have taken many times! Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn shares the reason for The Beatles magic: integrity. They stayed true to their vision and wrote music for themselves. Not to please the market.
And I loved the story about listening to George play sitar. Afterwards, George said that all the fame and all the money were nothing compared to love.
