President Donald Trump is kicking things off in Carson City: "Sixteen days from now, we're going to win the state of Nevada, we're going win four more years in the White House."
Trump predicts a "big red wave" — "All you have to do is look at this crowd. When did we set this up? Like two days ago?"
So far, Trump has started off by talking about voting in North Carolina and jobs in auto plants in Michigan.
Trump again repeats the assertion that "we closed it up and we saved over 2 million lives." As I've noted before, those decisions were made by individual governors — including here in Nevada — not by the federal government.
Trump, talking about his treatment for COVID (which is not the experience of most Americans): "The great thing is when you're president you have so many doctors ... I had 12 doctors around the bed and every one of them was grabbing a different part of my body."
So far, Trump has only mentioned Gov. Sisolak obliquely: "Tell your governor to open up, tell everybody."
Trump, on a vaccine: "The Nevada tourism and hospitality industry, which is fantastic, will come roaring back." Economic guru Jeremy Aguero recently said that he's concerned about Nevada's economy operating at 70-80% for the next three years. https://twitter.com/RileySnyder/status/1316785479031767040?s=20
Trump, listing states that need to "open" asks Nevadans if they want to open: "You guys, you wanna open?"

He notes that some places are partially open but "not open as they should be." Again, it's unclear what level of "open" he would like Nevada to be.
"A giant trove of emails."

As I looked from 2016 to 2020, and from 2020 to 2016, and from 2016 to 2020 again, but already it was impossible to say which was which.
Trump said if Biden wins, the media will be out of a job because he's the "most boring human being I've ever seen." But apparently the media also want Biden to win "so they can take over," Trump says. Somehow the media will be out of business but also taking over things?
Interestingly, this speech has not been very Nevada focused at all, compared to previous addresses by the president here in the Silver State. He's talked about Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, California — but only a couple of Nevada mentions.
Trump says most of the country has so much water — North Carolina, in New England. "But even you have the water," Trump tells Nevadans, which, yes, is true. We do have water here.
The above comments came amid a story about flow restrictors on sink faucets, showers and toilets: "A big portion of the country, doesn't need it."
Trump says that "women from the suburbs" are looking for a couple of things: safety, "good strong security," and no low-income housing built next to their houses. "Only vote for me if you're a woman from the suburbs," he says.
Trump, as he has in previous speeches here, says "rioters burned the city of Reno" — they set a fire in Reno City Hall — and notes the Las Vegas Metro officer who was shot in the head during demonstrations (not by a protestor.)
Trump says Biden's agenda "would be a catastrophe for Nevada seniors" and starts off talking about cuts to Social Security and Medicare before pivoting to talking about how the U.S. would be in a war with North Korea if Obama or Clinton were president.
Trump also says Biden would "annihilate Nevada's economy" with a "draconian, unscientific lockdown." I've written a lot about COVID, and Nevada's response to it, and this belies the complexity of decisions to lock down or open up.
Trump says that under lockdown "the lights of Reno and Las Vegas were distinguished" and suggests that Carson City "will become a ghost town."
