A mind-monster that's been stalking me all week: what if Hillary had WON? She'd have come into office with a 241 seat house and a 51 seat Senate. MAYBE we get Merrick Garland, but maybe not. And then we'd have had the midterms, where the President's party almost always... 1/
...loses. So instead of a 41 seats gain in the House... do Democrats lose another 10? And the 2018 Senate map was BRUTAL. Without the headwind of Trump, do Democrats lose 5 seats instead of 2? So that's 251 House Republicans & 56 Republican Senators.

Then there's Covid... 2/
...assuming the most competent handling on Clinton's part (which I have no doubts about) maybe it's 30K deaths, which we can only assume would get Benghazi style hearings and so would be looking down the barrel of a potentially filibuster proof Senate, a 70 seat... 3/
...Republican majority in the house and a Trump family with 4 years to broadcast hate from the sidelines.

Even this reality isn't worth the pain we've been through, but is it possible that as horrible as it's been... we'd have been on the verge of something even worse? end/
(And to be clear about the first tweet: Hillary would have taken the Presidency with a 51 REPUBLICAN Senate and a 241 REPUBLICAN House...so never a majority in either chamber...and it only would’ve gotten worse in 2018.)
