Shamsi claims in this debate that Allah is pleased with Abu Bakr and Umar. He says that Allah is pleased with them by using 9:100 from the Qur’an.

Let’s look if Allah is really pleased with everyone among the Muhajireen wa Ansar according to verse 9 of Surah at-Tawbah https://twitter.com/ebn_muhammad_/status/1317437764393181186

The verse:

As for the foremost among the Muhajireen wa Ansar and those who follow them in goodness, Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. And He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. That is the ultimate triumph. 9:100

Let’s begin with the Muhajireen (emigrants).

• Is Allah pleased with everyone among the Muhajireen (emigrants) or is their niyah (intention) important ?

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The deeds are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Messenger, his emigration will be for Allah and His Messenger; and whoever emigrated for worldly

— benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration would be for what he emigrated for".

Umar: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for.”

| CONCLUSION:

Allah is only pleased with those who emigrated for the sake of Allah.

The emigrants who have emigrated for worldly reasons are thus beyond the satisfaction of Allah.

Alhamdoulilah we Shia know what the intention was of some of the emigrants

Now let’s look at the Ansar....

Is Allah pleased with everyone among the Ansar?

“We used to recognize the hypocrites amongst the Ansar (helpers) by their hatred of Ali.”

| This hadith shows us that there were indeed hypocrites among the Ansar (helpers)

2. There are also those ˹hypocrites˺ who set up a mosque only˺ to cause harm, promote disbelief, divide the believers, and as a base for those who had previously fought against Allah and His Messenger. They will definitely swear,

“We intended nothing but good,” but Allah bears witness that they are surely liars. 9:107

Who are these hypocrites who built a mosque to cause fitnah?

“And as we narrated, they were 12 people from the Ansar”

Ibn Kathir:

And he (Abu Amir) wrote to a group of the hypocrites and doubters among the Ansar. He promised and assured them that he will come with an army to fight the Prophet (sawa).

| CONCLUSION:

We have proven that there were indeed hypocrites among the Ansar. How can Allah be pleased with everyone among the Ansar if there are hypocrites among them?

Is Allah pleased with hypocrites?

According to the Shi’i narrative; Abu Bakr, Umar etc emigrated for the sake of wordly gains, and not for the sake of Allah.

Why did Shamsi use this verse in the debate against the 2 brothers?

We as Shia don’t care about your narrative. We can prove our narrative from your books. Why not debating about the acts of Umar and Abu Bakr?

Because if we know what the intention of Abu Bakr and Umar was, we can know if this verse is applicable to them.

May Allah be pleased with the righteous companions among the Muhajireen wa Ansar.
