This is related to what Benjamin Riley and I wrote about learning styles and neuromyths. With rare exceptions, everybody wants to be on the side of science and research. For this reason the most valuable thing to do isn& #39;t to report on scientific consensus or the importance of listening to science -- others already agree it& #39;s important, and they think you& #39;re reporting just one side of the story. Instead, you have to educate the public on science.
Some of the above claims proved to be a bit controversial! I& #39;ll try to reengage with research on scientific communication and post about it. Stay tuned.
