For everyone who's been requesting Charles Haughey and Claude Monet singing Future Islands

As a recovering perfectionist, this is part of my promise to myself to keep posting stupid work-in-progress tests

These are still images animated by a reference video, using a neural network called First Order Model, and while the process is annoying and finicky as hell, the results are weird, imperfect, and strangely compelling

It handles photographs well, which is fine...

... but it also tackles illustrations, which is where things start to get particularly interesting/uncanny

Getting a lot of DMs asking if it can make the Molly Malone statue sing and I’m happy to answer that right here

Given that this will be *at least* twice as good in six months’ time, it is absolutely bananas to me that you can breathe life and emotion into still images in this way
