1) Major Holders of Treas Securities:

Unlike what some people on twitter are saying, it is actually money market funds along with the Fed that are the major buyers of Treasury securities over the past year; NOT the banks who are in a distant 3rd.
2) Major Holders of Treas Securities:

Although the banks are increasing their holdings, they are doing so from a small base. Here is a historical chart (up to 2020-Q2) of the major holders of Treas securities.

Banks were the major holder in the '50s & '60s. Now, not so much.
3) Major Holders of Treas Securities:

For all US depository institutions (banks) their treasury security holdings are 4.8% of total assets as of 2020-Q2.
