Some Lessons I Learned From Nihang Saints ⚔️

[ thread ]
I’ve had the privilege of being in the company of some of the greatest Singhs living in today’s world.

They have all played the role of a father figure, vidiya guru, mentor & even a friend at one point or another in my life.
This thread contains some keys I learned from them, which I hope you can take some value from for your own journey.

To keep the thread bite sized and easy to read I’ve gone for a bullet point format. Enjoy.
The first to show me the path was Jathedhar Akali Baba Joginder Singh, Budha Dal

Their Amritvela lasts from 1am-7am every morning without fail where they fall into deep states of meditation

Key lessons:

- Focus on Naam Simran
- Stay detached from politics
- Amrit Vela is key
Akali Baba Maan Singh Guru Nanak Dal.

The eldest living Nihang Singh Jathedhar, a true embodiment of the Khalsa.

Key lessons:

- The Panth always comes first
- Man up
- Live by example
- Keep the peace
- How to make Sikhi one with your lifestyle
Giani Sher Singh Ambala Budha Dal.

Giani Ji is someone who has mastered the art of staying humble while being one of the most learned Gursikhs on the planet.

Key lessons:

- Everything is Hukam
- Focus on connecting to Akaal
- Knowledge is useless without application
Writing this thread I realized how deep the learnings are, it was almost an impossible task to summarize in this format.

One day I’ll write a long form version of this thread which will hopefully do a better job.

I hope these keys help you on your journey.
