zuko is super stressed out and obviously needs a break so azula is like hey, go on vacation w ur husband. take some time off. and zuko is like ummm my daughter??? my throne????? and azula’s like dont worry about it

so while sokka and zuko go off to be gay around the world, azula takes over as interim fire lord. she also makes good on her promise to take care of baby izumi and takes her w her everywhere she goes, including into important council meetings

anyone who dares to even raise an eyebrow at izumi’s presence is levelled w an icy glare, the threat of immediate banishment looming over their heads. izumi has no idea what’s going on and just babbles happily, pulling at her aunt’s hair

sometimes azula will get into very deep, serious conversations with izumi

azula: so what did u think of councilman wong’s idea to raise taxes on earth kingdom imports?
izumi: jhhdjsaajhpffff (baby noises)
azula, nodding thoughtfully: hmm, you make a very good point. i’ll bring it up at the next meeting.

izumi starts to mimic azula’s trademark look of haughty disdain. when zuko gets back from vacation and tries to pick up his daughter (because he missed her ), izumi just levels him w that Look and he nearly bursts into tears on the spot

sokka thinks its hilarious and laughs at zuko’s reaction, but then izumi does the exact same thing to him and his jaw just drops in shock

sokka and zuko in unison: what did u do to my daughter??!!!?!!?!?!
