This is the only way to become a successful person

Here you have a brief explanation of why “discomfort” and "success" are related

Hope you like it!
1.
There are 2 type of people:

- The ones addicted to instant gratification (IG) i.e.
mundane things like scrolling our social networks,
eating fast food whenever we feel a bit anxious, etc.

- The long run player
2.
People that life in the IG world are sacrificing their life goals. They lose their opportunity to develop personally and professionally.

That is why it is important to understand how the IG mechanism works so that we can prevent it from getting in the way of our life goals
3.
But why does this happen?

I will explain with a couple of pictures
4.1

Dopamine Addict

Well, we all have our own level of happiness, whenever we “perform” an instant gratification activity our brain receives a dopamine stimulus that makes us feel happy, once that activity is finished, we return to the original point.
4.2

But our brain knows we haven´t done anything significant, we are still the same person as before, we haven’t achieve anything and our goals are still as far as they were before, we are just a bit older. That is why we run to do more dopamine activities
4.3

After a while what happens is that out base level of happiness goes down a bit.

Look around you, see if this happens to you or to your friends. You will realise that most of the people say they are happy but there is no energy behind those words.
4.4

We usually enter this negative cycle without even realising we are in it.
5.2

Whenever we work hard on our goals, we start to feel some discomfort, resistance, you start to realize you need to put more time and energy than what you initially thought and that makes your level of pain to increase
5.3

In this scenario, you are in pain but your brain knows you were doing something significant, you have gotten closer to your goals and you are becoming a successful person, you are feeling prouder of yourself, and therefore your base level of happiness increases
5.4

Feeling proud of ourselves as we grow to our full potential is something amazing. That is why, the next time we perform an activity that brings us closer to our goals it will make us feel uncomfortable again but it will also increase our level of happiness more and more
6.1

The transformation Point

So far so good. I think this is understandable by anyone. What most people don’t understand is that there is point on the road were everything changes – The transformation Point
6.2

When you are constantly working on your goals, with responsibility, commitment, dedication and passion. When you give the best of yourself, something magical happens in your brain.

What was previously considered pain is suddenly transformed into dopamine.
6.3

Basically, your brains will ask you to look for activities that will produce that new dopamine, good dopamine.

These activities will be the ones that will take you closer to your full potential and to your goals.
6.4

Just remember, whenever your level of happiness drops your brain will do everything possible to get you back to your comfort zone.

Remember to keep going and, in less time than you think, there will be an incredible moment where all effort will be a cause for happiness.
