Look at this video of Tony Onome after being stabbed at the #EndSARS protest.

He's walking while bleeding, his head is lolling, his eyes are starting to roll.

He's CLEARLY becoming hypovolemic.

He SHOULD NOT BE WALKING, but be CARRIED by protesters.

Once he was stabbed and got away from his attackers, everyone around him should have padded and applied crushing pressure to his wounds.

The people around him should have put him on a stretcher or on ANYTHING instead of allowing him to walk.

Every step is his heart bleeding out

PLEASE you have to understand this.
Because at a protest you might be the only person who can save your neighbour's life.

If someone is bleeding you have to STOP THE BLEEDING AT ALL COSTS.

And the way you stop bleeding is PRESSURE, and stopping his heart from pumping so hard.

You stop his heart from pumping too much by forcing him to lie down and CARRYING HIM instead of letting him walk by himself, and calming him down

You stop the bleeding by making a tight pad with anything and pressing down on it as hard as possible, even SITTING on it if you must

And then you do everything you can to get him to a doctor as fast as you possibly can.

Please, learn this.

Look at all the people in the video just walking around him doing nothing due to lack of First Aid sense when Tony Onome didn't have to die

If someone is stabbed this is what you MUST do:

1. If the blade is still inside their body NEVER PULL IT OUT.

The blade may be blocking a blood vessel and preventing bleeding by itself.

Stabilise the blade instead

2. If the blade has already been removed:

YOU MUST STOP THE BLEEDING NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS

Make a tight pad from anything, a tshirt, a banner, a cloth.

What matters is the pad must be TIGHT so it doesn't soak up

3. PRESSURE STOPS BLEEDING.

You MUST press that pad as heavily, and as tightly, and as CRUSHINGLY as you can on the bleeding area.

Also try and press down from the sides so that you are pressing the wound CLOSED.

4. NEVER ALLOW THE STABBED PERSON TO WALK OR MOVE.

You must KEEP THEM CALM.

Panic or movement means their heart is beating faster, and pumping their blood out of their body even faster.

DON'T LET THEM MOVE AROUND

5. CARRY THE STABBING VICTIM WHILE PRESSING DOWN ON THE WOUND.

If the person or people applying pressure must do so, let them sit on or next to the victim and be carried on a platform all together with the victim.

6. GET THEM TO A DOCTOR ASAP.

Either you transport the stabbing victim to a doctor as rapidly as possible (meaning everyone in the crowd should work together to move them fast),

OR GET A DOCTOR TO THE VICTIM ASAP.

HOW TO HELP A STABBED PERSON:

1. DO NOT pull out the blade.
2. Make them lie down and carry them.
3. Use pressure on and around the wound to stop bleeding.
4. You can use pad made from clothes and use your belt to tighten it to the maximum.
5. Get them to a doctor FAST.
