Inter FAQs

Q: Why Conte hasn't been sacked yet despite his failure to win any trophy 🏆 last season and even after making a poor start this season?

A: Conte earns €12m annually, sacking him will hurt the club severely economically (Spalletti is also still on the payroll)
Q: Yes, but the club hasn't improved with Conte?

A: Not true, results wise the team finished 2nd in the league (highest finish since 2011) after raking 82 points (highest tally since 2010) scoring 100+ goals in all competitions and finishing as the league's best defense
Q: Ok, but the club gave him the squad he wanted?

A: When you hire a €12m coach you obviously need to give him the players he wants to deploy his ideas, otherwise, what's the point of hiring him in the first place?! He had the 2nd best squad and finished 2nd, met expectations
Q: Nah he earns €12m annually he should've won something and beat every team in the league regardless?

A: He's earning this salary because his CV allows it. On the other hand, Eriksen earns as much as Lukaku (€7.5m annually) but there's no comparison between the output of both
Q: Speaking of Eriksen, how do you justify the fact that Conte keeps benching the Danish superstar?

A: Eriksen hasn't done anything yet to justify having him as an automatic starter for Inter. This could happen to any player at any club because football is not a perfect science
Q: What? Eriksen is a proven superstar!

A: Cambiasso and Samuel went from being Real Madrid flops to becoming eternal legends for Inter. On the other hand, Bergkamp went from being an Inter flop to having an Arsenal statue dedicated to him outside the Emirates Stadium
Q: All of Inter's problems is due to the fact that Conte uses a rigid 3-5-2?

A: it's Conte's preferred playing system since his successful days with Juventus. Inter's current squad has been built for this system. Changing a playing system is not as easy as it is in video games
Q: How is it not easy when other coaches do it?

A: Every coach will do whatever he can to make his team successful but this is not an easy job as it sounds because it requires working hard on many aspects. E.g. playing 3 at the back is a different world to playing 4 at the back
Q: I don't care a €12m coach can surely do that without any problems?

A: What you assume as a spectator doesn't change the facts on the ground. Conte started his career playing 4-2-4 system initially but he found success everywhere he has gone by playing 3 at the back
Q: Why do you keep defending Conte? He's a pathetic Juventino...

A: I'm not defending him. I'm stating facts, that's all. I did the same with Benítez, Leonardo, Gasperini, Ranieri, Stramaccioni, Mazzarri, Mancini, Pioli, Spalletti and now Conte. I only care about Inter
Q: But Inter will lose the chance of hiring Allegri who is still unattached?

A: Even Allegri didn't change what was a successful system when he took over from Conte at Juve because he understood that to apply your ideas at an already successful team you need to win "trust" first
Q: So are you suggesting that Allegri will also play 3 at the back if he joins Inter?

A: I'm not suggesting anything because I can't see the future but Allegri is a smart guy and he'll surely play by the team's current strengths. If this team is built for 3 at the back then yes
Q: Still, don't you think he need a flexible coach like Allegri?

A: I'm a logical person, I can't see Inter hiring him under any circumstances given the times we're going through. Three coaches on the payroll? That is just insane
