an incredibly bad (& exploitable!) twitter behavior: this is the beginning of a popular 14-tweet thread. of course people link to the first tweet. this is what web twitter shows when you click on that link.
By replying to the /second/ tweet in the thread, this person with 0 likes and 0 RTs has completely obscured the fact that the thread continues, except for that tiny "2" next to the replies icon on the second tweet.
The issue is that Twitter shows replies to the selected tweet, and ONE thread of replies to each of those. I think it used to choose based on engagement. But here it seems to be prioritizing a reply over a self-reply regardless of any other metric.
So I guess if you see a thread you hate, reply to the second tweet :/
