It’s never a woman’s time in a man’s world - she needs more development, no she cannot be developed within the role, it’s not her turn

It’s interesting to watch the daily vitriol and commentary on the PNP’s leadership race, naturally most of the negative comments are with Lisa
“She too pretty - a beauty queen that” - I’ve really never heard the complaint of a man being too handsome to lead

“She only on the gram everyday posting - like minister of IG” - 92% of an average politician’s post includes pictures of themselves. Must she be judged differently
“She’s never been minister of finance or senior cabinet minister so how she must want come be PM ?”

Bruce was a senior cabinet minister before succeeding or Andrew was MOF ?

Or are we just creating our own barriers for women - yes I’m going to make it about that 🙂
“Lisa has done nothing in SESA hence her loss, yes - based on the narratives you’d think she has lost, she barely win safe seat by 32”

The question I pose here is:

All the persons who also had safe seats and lost was it because they all never worked - you think a so it work ?
If so then you’d think the 18 years the PNP retained power it was because of excellent work ...

Political history should become a thing:

Must I speak of men who have led the party and lost their seats

Must I speak of men who led and barely won their seats

Hmmm - let’s talk
It’s interesting to watch this election cycle play out. The PNP said Phillips was fat, boring, old, didn’t dress well and never appealed to youth, his brilliance was not enough for the PNP.

I’m curious as to why they support candidates- friendship ? loyalty ? Or to lead ?
I digressed but alas time to come back.

“Lisa councilors can’t stand her, she couldn’t unify them so how the party”

The problem with the PNP is never the leader it’s often times the greed for power - always competing with each other to have that seat at the table.
Interestingly the candidate before her had been removed - and a new set of councilors are in place, who she asserts have all endorsed her, I guess that’s that - unity.

Let’s not paint brush over it though - work still needs to be done there but the two aren’t mutually exclusive.
“What a lazy woman - she never did nothing as Minister” yet polls ranked her back then as always in the top three performing ministers; maybe that’s not independent enough.

None the less there are some post on her page attesting to the work she did - “maybe those are lies ?” 🤣
“She hasn’t done her time in the PNP - she’s a new comer”

Maybe it’s because she’s a woman why her tenure of four term MP, region chairman and treasurer is not enough.

Must women still have double the requirements - let’s not compare, the savings might not be there.
In my opinion the PNP needs someone that can give them a minimum of 12 years.

5 for this term

5 for the next term (win or lose)

At least 3 for the other term

Anything less will put them back right here again ...
The PNP doesn’t need unity, selecting a leader is not even the heights of their problem ...

It’s commitment and loyalty from it members and a renewed purpose to the public as to what the party is about and stands for ...

You can have a message but the messenger is key ...
Lastly it’s hard to do succession planning when one isn’t even given a chance - you can’t plan as to who will come unless you can plant your departure.

It’s not hard to bounce back after one term - the JLP has seemingly done it but let’s see what 2025 will this dust settles.
