Brendan Rodgers was sacked following a run of poor results in October 2015. Just a few days later, Bundesliga and champions league finalist Jürgen Klopp was hired.
In klopps first season as the reds boss, he finished 8th in the Premier League. Liverpool lost out on the League Cup on penalties to Manchester City, and then lost the Europa league final 3-1 to Sevilla.
In June of that year, Sadio Mane was signed from Southampton for a fee of £34 Million pounds. He would go on to become one of Liverpool most important ever players. He scored in Liverpool’s 3-4 opening day victory against arsenal.
In the 16-17 Season, Liverpool came 4th in the premier league following a massive 3-0 win at home against Middlesbrough which secured the reds Champions league football. Klopp went out of the league cup Semi Finals to Southampton, 2-0 on aggregate.
During the transfer window preceding the 17-18 campaign, Mohamed Salah was signed from Roma. Nobody could’ve predicted he would go on to score 100 goals in 159 games for the reds.
Mohamed Salah goes on to score 32 goals in his first season, a record for a 38 game season. Liverpool finish 4th in the premier league, behind centurions Manchester City, Manchester United and spurs.
Liverpool get to a champions league final this season after beating Porto, Manchester City and Roma to get there. This is Liverpool best chance at European Glory in almost 14 years.
However, a catalogue of errors from Goalkeeper Loris Karius sees the reds slump to 3-1 defeat in the final against Real Madrid, with goals from Benzema, Bale and Mane.
In the transfer window of 2018, Liverpool make big signings. Van Dijk has already signed from Southampton in January, Alisson Becker arrives from Roma for a record fee fo a goalkeeper at the time, and Guinean Naby Keith arrives from Red Bull Leipzig.

Liverpool win the Champions League that season after beating Spurs 2-0 in madrid, with goals from Salah, and Divock Origi. This is Liverpool’s 6th European Cup.
Liverpool win the premier league the next season on 99 points, after a remarkable campaign, leaving the rest of the premier league in awe, and being quite possibly the greatest Premier league team ever.
That summer, Liverpool pull Champions League and Bundesliga winner Thiago Alcantara to Anfield, for a nominal fee of 30 million euros.
