“God punish that your papa wey you wan talk to” was the response of a Police Officer to a young man who had been shot by men of the Nigerian Police, lying in a pool of blood. His last request/wish was simple, yet heartbreaking, “let me talk to my father before I die”. #EndSARS
The more videos I watch, the more stories I hear, the more I say to myself, we left a few people in this fight, for far too long; we all should have been screaming #EndPoliceBrutality on rooftops, church pulpits, mosque platforms, events and just about anywhere. #EndSARS
They say the best time to plant a tree was 100 years ago, the next best time is today. This is why I am deeply thankful that finally, we are all planting #EndSARS trees across the nation. It is Honourable for us to appreciate men & women who have been in the trenches for years.
I say to you all that the thankless job you did, was a seed that has now produced this mighty tree. Because you talked, walked & acted, we are all able to stand tall now against #SARs. To the new voices, crying for Justice, Equity & Governance, you arrived on time. #EndSARS
And to those who are wondering what this is all about? Stop & imagine if your son or daughter’s last wish was “can I speak to my father/mother before I die” and the response from those who took oaths to protect him was “die, God punish you”. #EndSARS is the beginning. Many things
need to end in Nig, and new things need to begin; especially values, such as the “regard for life”. The most precious thing in life that no one, except God should have the power to take, is life. That’s what has been brutally taken, again and again. This generation will #EndSARS
But it must also #DefineValues & #ShapeCulture. Values that make us different. Values that form the foundation on which a new and great nation will be built. We can begin with the “regard for life”, but there’s more. Write your values down today as we continue to push #EndSARS
It is my prayer that the peace of God that passes all human understanding rule our hearts today and always, as we strive to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.

Aluta Continua... Victoria Acerta!

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
