1) My name is Hanna-Beth and I am a disabled courier working for @Stuart_delivery. I deal with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, suspected Ehler Danlos Syndrome amongst other things. Before I started this job around 2 years ago, I was on long term disability benefits
2) I thought I had found a job fitted around my needs but the reality is I have become trapped in something that had increased stress, flare ups and left me in a worse financial position than I was in on the awful support available through disability benefits
3) I have tried to work throughout the pandemic but as work dried up @stuart_delivery did nothing to support couriers and I had to find a temp job. Here is an example of the kind of support we are used to and shows a courier trying to get help after being attacked while working
4)Last year I joined the @iwgb_clb to get support with being underpaid yet again by Stuart but since joining the support and care has far exceeded any expectations and I have grown as a result
5) Yesterday, after another flare up, things got too much and I had a bit of a breakdown. With no other option I was forced to go to work even though seriously ill and having to take my mum/carer with me to assist me. I needed the money and would be penalised for not working
6)With a company who could not care less about me, I turned to the members for support and was met with phone calls, texts and offers of financial support and people generally going out of the way to try and help me through this
7) But things should not be like this. Why should the support I need be coming from the low paid workers around me and not the multimillion pound, multinational company I work for? Why am I in such a precarious situation despite working for almost 2 years for @Stuart_delivery
8) And why am I being denied rights like holiday pay (which I could use for paid time off when I am unwell) despite @Stuart_Delivery losing their appeal against a worker status ruling last year? The ruling is here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5de8fa81ed915d09c950dd7e/Stuart_Delivery_Ltd_v_Mr_Warren_Augustine_UKEAT_0219_18_BA.pdf
9)Why are companies like @Stuart_Delivery allowed to get away with this mistreatment and exploitation despite it being ruled in court they should give couriers minimum wage, holiday pay and not discriminate? They sit back and watch the money roll in while people like me suffer
