Immediately anyone becomes a Nigerian politician, you have to apply the appropriate discount to their actions and statements. It's very simple.
What someone used to be or do before, becomes largely irrelevant the moment they enter the Nigerian political arena, actively seek political office or work for Nigerian politicians either overtly or covertly. No two ways about it.
So, if you think this or that person is the same you remember before they entered the Nigerian political arena, you are 99% certain to be absolutely wrong. Don't be naive.
It also needs to be said that this goes far beyond stealing money. It refers to the various compromises, spoken and unspoken, that go into making it in Nigerian politics *in particular*.
