Saw a man pleading guilty as charged in court on Friday. His crime? Picking up pecans on the ground.

This is the law and order you’re screaming for. This is how the state sees fit to use your tax dollars to prosecute. This is a “criminal” DA’s are prosecuting to keep you safe.
Prosecutor reading facts into the record during plea: “witness described a Black man picking up pecans on the ground.” Think about that description...no description of clothes, hair, height, skin color depth, build, etc. Just Black man. Yet the police found “the Black man”...
Now think about the witness that called this “crime” in... not the owner of the property. In fact there was no mention of the property the pecans were on at all or the owner.
Think about the “crime”, the fact that this person felt the need to call in this crime, the description, the fact the police found someone based on that description, and tell me with your whole chest the CJS isn’t racist to its core.
*not my case, just witnessed the plea in court while waiting for my case to be called
I forgot to mention a bad actor— THINK ABOUT THAT JACKASS COP WHO RACIALLY PROFILED THIS MAN THEN THOUGHT “YEA THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE ARRESTED FOR PICKING UP PECANS THAT ABOUT TO ROT ON THE GROUND” basically doing the property owner and his lawn mower a service. God help us all.
Trying this thing where I post at 2am so maybe the prosecutor won’t see I’m trying to drag her ass for charging this petty shit and having the audacity to not be embarrassed when she had read those facts on to the record.
The bulk of crimes coming through the CJS (by arrest and/or prosecution) are embarrassingly petty, small property offenses. The reality is these people are arrested by cops and charged by prosecutors for $. To keep doing it, they feed you propaganda about the dangerous criminals
And how it’s necessary to keep you safe (think Law & Order).

But the facts are these are the people cops spend the majority of their time arresting and these petty crimes are the bulk of prosecution. They are doing this in your name.
