So yesterday I had a very looong conversation with my dad about #EndSARS protest. First of, he said he couldn’t believe that our generation could stand up and create such an organized, and organic protest. Then he asked me a question. Why are we still protesting ? THREAD...
See me dropping all the anger and frustration in me, telling him of all the Sars malpractices, how there’s no accountability in the government, and most importantly the negligence of the government for our #5For5Demand
After all my ranting, he sighed and said we don’t know much about this government and that we’ve gotten the attention of the world locally and internationally but we aren’t taking the necessary steps to make our next move, how long are we going to protest for?
Two suggestions he made;
1. He said to really change this country and give the youths a chance we need to change the people in the National Assembly by demanding for an equal representation; 50% of the house should be youths the other 50% the old.
2. Ensure we all come out to vote during the next elections. Simply because the power is in our hands. Imagine a mass turnout of voters, there will be fear by the government and various parties to hijack votes.
