I hate HATE how when you mention “reader fics” the first thing people think of is certain problems fics.

I HATE how people assume readers/writers enjoy them because they legitimately ship themselves with Ben/Kylo

I’ve read them sometimes and I write them but not because

I legitimately want to imagine myself with him. It’s because I’m not comfortable writing Rey and writing Y/N has more freedom.

Of course there are a lot that like them for that reason but a majority of people that have read my fics (and commented) associate Y/N

like a separate character. Some have even told me they insert Rey.

I use Y/N as little as possible in my fics so you can enjoy them regardless of whether they actually self insert or not.

A LOT of the reader fics I’ve found are super violent and pretend like Ben was

never redeemed, a lot but not all. So that’s another thing everyone assumes is if you write or read them then your fic is going to be super dark.

That’s also not true.

The whole point of this rant is as a reader fic writer I feel like we get shit on for other people’s

beliefs and it’s irritating. I don’t like the stigma and I don’t like how readers/writers of self insert fics are perceived.
