TRENDERCORE

it's an aesthetic movement made for trans and non-binary people often called transtrenders, as a form of reclamation. It takes from caricatures thought about us, and embraced for self-love & expression

now for the people that don't understand why TRENDERCORE as a movement is needed, or that haven't seen the caricatures.

here they are. these vile depictions. these genuine attacks hurt so much we need this movement

and yes, basically ALL TRUSCUM CARICATURES OF ''TRANSTRENDERS'' are extremely disturbing depictions of transmasculine people and very gender non-conforming trans men.

when called out on this a lot of drawings were then made about how to ''appropriately'' be gnc for a trans man

but you know what? those of us always being attacked and abused for being a different kind of trans person? we didn't want to take it.

so we said FUCK IT

and completely took those vile fucking weapons others would point at us and turn them into our STRENGTH!!! (a long and proud tradition, honouring all the brave queer elders before us with this new kinda fight)

we even started making 'trendercore ocs' to fight those caricatures

we made our OWN ART to empower ourselves and defend who we are!! and our right to exist as ourselves without constantly being under scrutiny and attack!!!

we became POWERFUL against them

our attackers - primarily truscum & transmeds - could feel this power and wanted to make a counter aesthetic. that being TRUCORE.

but it was just about aesthetics with nothing behind them besides ''grunge, vaporwave is now for truscum''

there was nothing to overcome with it.

it's important to note now that TRENDERCORE as well as this counter aesthetic were both created on tumblr, & primarily known and talked about on there too

and if you compare the tags of both, TRENDERCORE has so much more it's staggering. it shows how TRUCORE has no staying power

TRENDERCORE, everyone hurt by transtrender caricatures and rhetoric, and everyone empowered by this movement... know it will not go away so easily. and know that we are so much stronger and kinder than those that seek to hurt us

there are also subcategories of TRENDERCORE for those wanting a lil bit of a different look. we have:

TRENDERWAVE

with the queer motifs and messages from the main movement, combined with VAPORWAVE, glitch, and grunge, this is all about vibin with who you are. chill times

and then we have

TRENDERPUNK

naturally, with the kind of messages and people in the TRENDERCORE movement, a lot will cross over into the punk territory with all of it's aesthetics, messages, and radical politics. "fuck you truscum you can't tell me what to do!!!"

and the last one I can find (for not) is

TRENDERSOFT

with an emphasis on colourful pastels and softness, this TRENDERCORE subcategory is the kind that homes the more gentle kindness of acceptance that comes with the movement's message.

oh fuck me, I'm going to have to make a medium article about trendercore as a whole. I can't keep JUST putting this much effort into JUST twitter threads.
