For 25+ years, I’ve wondered if the blue coloring on Cardassian women’s “spoons” (and sometimes neck scales) was in-universe makeup (like highlighter) or biological. Or maybe a cultural or religious significance? It’s very prominent for some, barely there for others. #StarTrek
Ziyal doesn’t have any blue tones in her spoon, but she’s also half-Bajoran. I suppose that could affect this both biologally and culturally. #StarTrek
And then there’s Garak, who sometimes does have some blue. Which would imply that this is a makeup choice of some kind.
