In the 90s, a friend was a medical officer on call @ a Lagos General Hospital. He said the police would bring bodies in a pickup truck every night for them to certify dead and admit to mortuary. They looked more like young people returning from work than robbers. The police would argue with him that these people were deadly when alive. One day, as he was counting, one of the heads moved. He alerted the policeman that the guy was alive and should be treated. Big mistake!

The policeman dragged the guy out and emptied his clip into his chest. He then said, “he don die.” The doctor was so shaken and reported it. The next day, they discovered the policemen had dug out the bullets from the ground and removed casings. No evidence. Doctor left Nigeria.
