#EndPhoneTax Phone credit is not money or a means of payment unless the Central Bank wants to set a new precedent. Credit is a good bought using a means of payment. A new law is required to change that and that will mean we can ask networks to return our credit for cash

#EndPhoneTax every tax system in the world makes an allowance for gifts. What does this new tax law say for phones received as a gift?

#EndPhoneTax CMR already has one of the worst VAT in the world making trade difficult at 19,25% so what justifies an additional 30% import duty for importers or end consumers? On a good that is literally the future...promoted by a ministry hoping transform the country digitally?

#EndPhoneTax what law allows the government to do systematic monitoring on us to a point where they can forcefully obtain IMEI numbers or forcefully deduct money from our mobile money accounts? Why are we allowing it? Is there any respect for privacy or data privacy in Cameroon?
