Funny, I googled this afternoon for the comic that featured "We Must Perform A Quirkafleeg" and it directed me to an old website by the only person from my primary school that I'm still in touch with at all, @stephencsmith!
From another site:

"Approx 51 minutes into the film, during the Toga Party Bluto yells out "Gator!" they all drop to the floor and perform what can only be described as a textbook Quirkafleeg."

"Perform what can only be described as a textbook Quirkafleeg" is my new favourite phrase
I've fallen down a quirkafleeg hole.

Anyway, this is where I know it from, the Spectrum classic "Jetset Willy", whose creator Matthew Smith saw the original phrase in "Fat Freddy's Cat" comic.
Guys, I just ordered the "Fat Freddy's Cat" omnibus. I felt the need to get the full quirkafleeg context!

Also I need to make sure I'm performing it correctly
It's been almost 24 hours and I'm still laughing about the concept of a textbook quirkafleeg
Google Now has caught on to my Jet Set Willy vibe
UPDATE: It has arrived!

30 years of mystery and expectation can only end in disappointment but we'll see! #quirkafleeg
This is amazing! Suspended for performing a quirkafleeg!

Why have I never searched the #quirkafleeg hashtag before?
POTUS performs the best quirkafleegs, believe me

Anyway, the Fat Freddy's Cat Omnibus is pretty good! I did read "The Sacred Sands Of Pootweet" (where the reference comes from) first and that was especially funny, being a proper 9 or 10 pages with plenty of ridiculous twists and turns.
I always imagined it was some mythical comic with low circulation that only existed in low quality screenshots online and not something I could still buy new from Jeff Bezos

Film idea: Citizen Kane, except the main character is me and the last word I utter as I drop the snowglobe is "quirkafleeg"
I feel like the target audience for this thread is people in the UK my age who are me
