4. The Algonquins of Barriere Lake have been calling for a moose moratorium due to declining numbers for the last 3 years. Moose are an important part of their culture and the Quebec government has done little to protect the animal. EMTs can be sent to [email protected]

7. On September 24, Joyce Echaquan was murdered in hospital after recording racist remarks from the nurses via Facebook. In the video she was screaming for help, telling them that they were giving her the wrong medicine, and the nurses didn’t listen. https://www.gofundme.com/f/justice-pour-joycejustice-for-joyce
8. Two weeks after Joyce’s murder, an investigation is underway at another Quebec hospital for the murder of Atikamekw man Georges-Herve Awashish after he told his cousins he hears racist remarks from the staff before his death. There isn’t even anywhere to donate to his family
but the systemic racism in Canada needs to be addressed. Medical racism is killing us. White supremacy is killing us.
