An announcement from the Supporters& #39; Shield Foundation board:
Follow up to the previous announcement to clarify where it came from & how the decision was made:

We understand there are going to be strong reactions from supporters over this decision, which is why we provided this information to ISC reps before going public.
To further clarify the position of the Supporters& #39; Shield Foundation board: it has become unclear whether every team will play the same number of games in the 2020 season, or if the league will move to a points per game model for seeding.
Beyond that, the extremely unbalanced scheduling of this season, with some teams playing far fewer opposing teams than others, leaves too many questions regarding who the true winner will be.
To the fans of teams in the thick of the race, please understand that this decision was not made with regard to your place in the standings. We are excited with whoever wins it each season, and have been working on a solution for months.
To the supporter reps of ISC, we need your help in spreading the message and reading what we post. It is on all of us to communicate together to avoid public arguing and finger pointing.
This decision was not made quickly or without consideration. At the end of the day, we are supporters like you. Our only concerns are the integrity, viability, & history of the Supporters& #39; Shield.

See you in 2021.
